elcome! I'm thrilled you're here. A little about me: I'm a nature lover, art enthusiast, and world traveler. I'm crazy about flowers, bubble tea, and my furry family (two cats and a dog). My passion is creating beautiful, timeless art that makes you feel all warm and fuzzy when you look at it.
My photography style is light-filled and dreamy, adding a touch of magic to your most cherished memories. My clients love working with me because I make the experience fun and relaxed. As a former elementary school teacher, I love connecting with kids and making sure they have as much fun as I do creating your dreamy portraits!

Fast forward a few years and I met my husband while teaching 2nd grade, he was teaching 8th grade at the same school. We fell in love, and have continued to travel and explore the world together, particularly to his home country of the Netherlands. We now call Sonoma County home, where we live with our two cats and sweet labradoodle.
With my camera always by my side, I've had the opportunity to go on many wild adventures and capture memories that will last a lifetime. I've come to realize that there's nothing quite like photographs to evoke feelings of love and nostalgia. I'm grateful for the photos that have captured my childhood, my travels as a young adult, and now, my life with my husband. I want to give others the same experience by providing them with photos that they will treasure for a lifetime.
Livin' in the mountains, deserts & wide open spaces
My background story
rowing up in the forested city of Atlanta, Georgia, I always dreamed of mountains and wide open spaces (just like in that Chicks song). The day after college graduation, I packed up and hit the road. Since then, I've explored all over the Western US and the world. I lived in Alaska for a summer, worked on chainsaw crews in Wyoming and Utah, led student trips in Peru and Southeast Asia, and so much more - always with my camera in hand, capturing the stunning beauty I encountered along the way.

I am happiest when on an adventure with my husband and dog, Maggie or when cozy at home including my two cats, Icarus and Briar. Animals bring so much joy into my life! My little family is so important to me, and our home is a place where I can truly be myself. It's so wonderful to have found the person (and the animals) who "like me just the way I am" in the words of Mr. Rogers.

My Favorite Things

I LOVE traveling. It started in High School, when my best friend invited me to go to China to meet her family and see the country. Since then I've been fortunate enough to visit some amazing places around the world, like Laos, Myanmar, Vietnam, Thailand, Ecuador, France, Italy, New Zealand, and more! I've also lived in places a bit longer, like when I studied abroad in southern Spain in college and lived in the Peruvian Andes for almost two years. My next travel wish is high on my bucket list - INDIA!

Being out in nature is healing for me. Walking through a forest, hiking up a mountain, kayaking along a river, it's really my happy place. Some of my favorite ways to experience nature are backpacking, visiting national parks, kayaking, and swimming. I LOVE swimming in a cold body of water, I felt so invigorated afterword. So, you guessed it, combining all my favorite things: being in nature, in a foreign place with friends or family...doesn't get better than that!

We had a family photo session with Julie and she was just wonderful to work with! She was fun and patient with our three year old and got some great photos of our family. She was very responsive in her communication and we received our photos very quickly. We will cherish these photos for years to come!
I can’t thank you enough for capturing our sweet mom and daughter day at the lavender field. My daughter absolutely adores you. We felt very comfortable during the shoot, thanks to your warmth and making things so easy for us. Our friends and family are going crazy over the photos.
Julie was so patient and kind with my squirrelly kids. I was so incredibly impressed when I saw just how many incredible moments she captured despite the fact that my children did not cooperate. Not only did we get perfectly posed photos, but she also captured candid shots in all the “in between” moments which is so telling of her talent. She has an incredible eye and was so prompt with her communication and edits. We will be cherishing all of our photos for years to come!
